Minister in charge of this ministry is Dato 'Rohani Abdul Karim.

On January 17, 2001 beginning ministry called the Ministry of Women's Affairs as announced by the Prime Minister at that time, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. [1] The function of the Ministry was later expanded and renamed the Ministry of Women and Family (MWFD) from 15 February 2001. Accordingly, the Department of Women's Affairs (HAWA) and the National Population and Family Development Board (NPFDB) was placed under the Ministry. HAWA later restructured and renamed as the Department of Women's Development (JPW).

After the Eleventh General Election in March 2004, the functions and responsibilities have expanded MWFD. On March 27, 2004 Community Development and function of the National Unity and Social Development was dissolved, and was transferred to MWFD. In line with the organization, MWFD was renamed the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (the ministry).

Ministry led by Y.B. Dato 'Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil (2001 - February 2008) as the minister responsible for increasing public awareness of the importance of the role of women and the family institution to achieve the national development agenda. People were also given awareness and guidance on social development, especially social welfare, to achieve the goal to create a caring society developed in line with Vision 2020.

After the 2008 Malaysian general election on March 8, 2008, the ministry leadership was assumed by Dato 'Seri Dr Ng Yen Yen. Among her early planning in the lead ministry is to educate the community about gender equality, starting from the school level, to create a gender friendly environment for working women, enhance the development of the community by working closely with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and also address the issues faced by women aged / elderly.

But after YAB Datuk Seri Najib Razak took over the premiership of Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the ministry once again led by Senator Dato 'Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil.

On March 11, 2012, Senator Dato 'Sri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil has resigned and handed over the ministry to the Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak (acting).

At present, the ministry is led by Y.B. Datuk Rohani Abdul Karim. The Y.B. Datuk Azizah Mohd Dun appointed as Deputy Minister.

Jawatan Kosong City University - City University College of Science and Technology (City U) (or formerly known as Unity College International) was founded in April 1984 by a group of scholars with extensive experience in both local public universities and reputable overseas universities. Registered with the Ministry of Higher Education under the former Education Act 1961, City U was known then as the Petaling Jaya Community College (PJCC). It was established at a time when there was a growing awareness that it was necessary for the private sector to complement the national education effort. Its aim item was to equip high school leavers with extensive academic exposure to the American degree system moderated by the Consortium of American Universities and Colleges (CAUC).

This was done through a biennial meeting in the United States. Since 1984, PJCC has successfully transferred over 20 batches of students to more than 100 universities and colleges throughout the United States, with many gaining places into the Ivy League universities for degrees in engineering (electrical, civil, mechanical and computer), journalism, business administration, finance, banking, accounting, marketing, insurance, economics, information systems, computer science, psychology, pharmacy, music and TESL. Although there were several private higher institutions in Malaysia, PJCC was the pioneer in the field for preparing students for transfer to the American universities. Jawatan Kosong Yayasan Taqwa - On Nov 20. 1990 NSW Limited Commitment Foundation (Yayasan Taqwa) was incorporated under the Companies Act 1965 by the Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (religious council) as a company limited by guarantee. Meaning a company limited by guarantee is it established the principle of liability of members is limited to the amount specified in the memorandum which members will contribute such amount to the assets of the company if the company is wound up later. It is also to ensure that the company will not be used to run the activities illegal, harmful and incompatible with peace, welfare, national security and public interest.

The main purpose of Uttarakhand Ltd. Taqwa Foundation. was established to manage all types of zakat collection except zakat fitrah of individual, group or organization in NSW for the religious council and managing and improving treasury funds in order to ensure the strength of the Muslim community in Malaysia. To realize these objectives, then Hartasuci Sdn. Limited. otherwise known Zakat Collection Centre assigned activities except zakat zakat fitrah. Ownership shares Hartasuci Sdn. Limited. is 100% owned by Yayasan Taqwa Uttarakhand Limited.

On the 1st. January 2006 Commitment Foundation WA Ltd. have transfer 1,000,000 shares Hartasuci Sdn. Limited. the religious council after receiving criticism from the National Audit where Zakat Collection Centre (Hartasuci Pvt. Ltd.) shall be placed directly under the religious council as a subsidiary.

At the meeting the Board of Trustees to 32 times Feb 12. 2008 Y.B chaired by Dr. Abdullah bin Md Zin has approved that the word "BERHAD" after the name of Yayasan Taqwa Taqwa dropped to the Foundation for approval under subsection 44 (6) of the Income Tax Act 1967. Purpose of the Foundation for making this application is to obtain tax relief to donors Foundation whether it is an organization or individual. The word "BERHAD" was approved to be dropped at the end of the name of Taqwa Foundation on June 12, 2008 then this is referred to as righteous FOUNDATION FEDERAL TERRITORY.

Kolej Komuniti Kuching - Kuching Community College is the first community college established in Sarawak and is one of 10 pilot Community College established the Ministry of Education on June 1, 2001. Campus is currently holding at Jalan Sultan Tengah, Petra Jaya constituency P.194 and the distance 10 km from Kuching city center.

The college began operating in Sejingkat Technical School, Kuching, with a staff of eight pilot. A total of 26 students were enrolled as the first group to attend the Automotive Certificate and Certificate Course in Fashion Designing and Garment on June 12, 2001.

To Session in July 2008 there were over 700 students enrolled full-time at Community College Kuching. To date a total of 3 courses were offered entirely of :

Community College is an Institution of Higher Learning (IPTA) under the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia. Community College has been established through Memorandum No. 398/2225/00 submitted by the Minister of Education to the Cabinet on July 5, 2000.
