Jawatan Kosong MP Kuantan - Kuantan Municipal Council was implemented on August 1, 1913 with the establishment of Kuantan Sanitary Board which is responsible for sanitation, health and development control. In 1937, Kuantan Sanitary Board was replaced by the Town Board Kuantan (Kuantan Town Board). After almost 16 years under this system, the Town Board Kuantan Municipal Council was upgraded to Kuantan (Kuantan Town Council) with the administration of 10 square miles only, Mukim Kuala Kuantan focused.
