Majlis Daerah Bera or Bera District Council was established on 01 January 1998 under the Local Government Act 1976 (Act 171). Majlis Daerah Bera covers an area of 1,970 square kilometre (not including Forest reserve) (89.0%) while the area of operations is 279 square kilometre (14.0%).

Mission

• To develop Bera district comparable with other districts, in line with government’s aspirations for a balanced development in all districts in the state.
  

Vision

• The goal of Bera District Council is to be Developed, Beautiful, Clean, Organised and Systematic and spreads widely to all areas as well as having facilities comparable to Municipality.
