As the national level domain name, MYNIC provides Malaysian organization and individuals their unique brand identity on the Internet. In the area of ICT outreach and awareness, MYNIC’s team had brought themselves to involve in a programme that targeted to close the gender gap in Technopreneurship and to train business women from SME via our community project called 1nita. The project was launched in March 2010 by the Minister of MOSTI, YB Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, with the prime objective to provide exposure, training and opportunity for business women in our country towards using online tools and techniques as one of the alternatives mode to market their products and services.
The 1nita Project successfully trained 999 participants, through its portal approximately 4,000 products and 1,300 services are being marketed, and the finale for this project was Karnival 1Nita that was launched by the Prime Minister’s wife, Yang Berbahagia Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor in December 2010. The outcome from this project, 871 online presences of domain addresses with .my has been generated and we have co-produced the “Pembangunan e-Usahawan: Satu Panduan” book with EKOM, UKM, to further assist the entrepreneurs with the application of the online tools and techniques.
