Jawatan Kosong ITBM - Institut Terjemahan & Buku Malaysia (formerly known as the Malaysian National Institute of Translation) was established on 14 September 1993 to provide the infrastructure for Malaysia’s translation industry, in the line with the country’s Vision 2020.ITBM was established with the aim of elevating the translation industry in the country, dealing with matters relating to translation, interpreting and knowledge transfer at all levels, both national and international. It is also tasked with enhancing and increasing the publication of works of local writers to boost the national publishing industry, consistent with the extension of its mandate as announced by the Prime Minister on 16 December 2011.
As a government-linked company, TBM basic capital is wholly owned by the Minister of Finance Incorporated (MKD) while the administration is supervised by the Ministry of Education (MOE). In accordance with the Companies Act 1965, the objectives, the jurisdiction, the board of directors and related matters TBM function subject to the Memorandum and Articles of Association of TBM approved by the Registrar of Companies.
TBM was established in order to lift the translation industry in the country, handling the affairs related to translation, interpreting and transfer of knowledge at all levels, national and international. TBM is also responsible for strengthening and expanding an original work of local authors to boost the country's book industry in line with the expansion of its mandate announced by YAB Dato 'Sri Najib Tun Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia on December 16, 2011.
