Jawatan Kosong MPS - Majlis Perbandaran Selayang or Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) is a local authority which administrates Gombak district and other areas. This agency is under Selangor state government. MPS are responsible for public health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure. The MPS main headquarters is located at Bandar Baru Selayang.
Selayang Municipal Council (MPS) was established on January 1, 1997. Previously known as MPS District Council Gombak (MDG) which has been operational since January 1, 1977 under Act 171, Local Government Act 1976. The administration is covering Mukim Rawang, Mukim Batu, Mukim Setapak part.
MPS was born from a series of previous Local Government Council such as the Town Board Gombak, Rawang Town Board, the Town Board of Kuala Lumpur, the PKNS Taman Keramat and Batu Caves Industrial Area.
MPS has several small offices / branches as in Batu Arang, Rawang and Gombak. SAC area is 549.33 square kilometers. While the number of holdings in January 2003 was 150,000.
